Accreditation is your assurance that academic programs meet the highest professional standards. The Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) accredits Pennsylvania Western University. CAEP promotes excellence in educator preparation through quality assurance and continuous improvement.
CAEP Approved Initial and Advanced Programs
As the accrediting body for all educator preparation programs, CAEP has four annual
accountability measures that provide information to all stakeholders regarding key
aspects of Program Impact and Program Outcomes. Listed below are each of the four

Measure 1 (Initial): Completer Effectiveness and Impact on P-12 Learning and Development

Measure 2 (Initial and Advanced): Satisfaction of Employers and Stakeholder Involvement
Interview data from employers regarding their satisfaction with teachers and other education experts who graduate from PennWest.
Measure 3 (Initial and Advanced): Candidate Competency at Program Completion
In alignment with the Pennsylvania Department of Education's certification testing matrix, 100% of the completers of both initial certification programs and advanced certification programs have the ability to meet and have met licensing (certification) for the licensure or endorsement for which they prepared.

Measure 4 (Initial and Advanced): Ability of Completers to be Hired in Education Positions for Which They Have Prepared
All completers of both initial certification programs and advanced certification programs met licensing (certification) for the licensure or endorsement for which they prepared. Additionally, all completers of both initial certification programs and advanced certification programs met all requirements for graduation. Therefore, 100% of both initial certification programs and advanced certification programs have the ability to be hired in education positions for which they have prepared.
