About Me

Dr. Kerry Moyer is currently a Professor in the Department of Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics at Pennsylvania Western University, where he teaches a variety of mathematics courses. Dr. Moyer earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees in meteorology from Penn State University. Following his graduate studies, he spent two years working as a postdoctoral investigator at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. Dr. Moyer spent many years teaching meteorology and climate science courses in the Geosciences Department at Edinboro University, chairing the Department for six of those years. He also formerly served as Associate Dean of the College of Science and Health Professions at Edinboro University. He is an active member of the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association, serving as a peer reviewer for articles and textbooks. His primary research interests lie in air-sea interaction and mesoscale weather systems such as lake-effect snow bands. Dr. Moyer has published his research in professional publications such as the Journal of Climate, the Journal of the Atmospheric Sciences, Boundary-Layer Meteorology, and Monthly Weather Review.
