About Me
Dr. Vanderlaan’s undergraduate degree is from Colgate University, where she earned Honors as an English major. Her doctoral degree is from the University of Delaware, an R1 Institution. Her area of specialization is Nineteenth-Century and Twentieth-Century American Literature, with a focus on American authors, Willa Cather, Edith Wharton, Henry James and Ernest Hemingway. She has been published in journals such as Cather Studies, Western American Literature, Journal of American Culture, and American Literary Realism. She lives in California, PA and enjoys hiking with her family, gardening, cooking and writing.
