President Anderson named among top leaders in Pennsylvania

City & State’s list identifies the most influential leaders, game-changers, trailblazers and pioneers across the Commonwealth

PennWest President Jon Anderson, Ph.D., has been recognized as one of Pennsylvania’s most influential leaders in City & State’s PA Fifty Over 50. This year’s list identifies individuals "taking on fresh challenges" across the Commonwealth, spotlighting influential leaders in government, business and media who are shaping the future of Pennsylvania.”

In recognizing Anderson’s leadership, City & State highlighted his experience with post-secondary integration and his vision to advance PennWest as an outstanding public university in western Pennsylvania, empowering students to achieve their goals.

The publication also noted Anderson’s prior role as provost at Southern Utah University, where he oversaw an $85 million budget and led a division with nearly 1,000 full- and part-time faculty and staff. Before Southern Utah, he served as provost at Middle Georgia State University, guiding the successful consolidation of services across five campuses following the merger of two colleges.
