PennWest joins SALUTE in recognizing student veterans

Pennsylvania Western University has formed a chapter of SALUTE, the nation’s only national honor society for the service and scholastic achievement of student veterans.
PennWest students who are active-duty military personnel or honorably discharged veterans with a minimum 3.0 GPA can join SALUTE, which provides a range of benefits.
“SALUTE will provide student veterans with opportunities to network, assist fellow students, grow their resume, and compete for scholarships,” said Cory Shay, PennWest director of Military and Veteran Success.
SALUTE members on each PennWest campus have access to designated spaces with snacks, drinks, computers, Community Access Card readers and other amenities. VA Work Study opportunities are available as well.
Members will receive red, white and blue cords to wear during graduation.
