Pennsylvania Western University is maintaining strong momentum as spring 2025 enrollment data highlight growth in graduate and dual enrollment programs.

PennWest’s total enrollment for spring 2025 has reached 10,206 students -- 6,986 undergraduates, 3,076 graduate students, and 144 doctoral candidates.

Graduate and online enrollment saw significant growth:

  • New graduate enrollment increased 11.41%.
  • Overall graduate enrollment grew 7.73%.
  • Online enrollment jumped 10.63%

“The growth in our graduate programs highlights the increasing demand for PennWest’s flexible, career-focused programs,” said Dr. Jon Anderson, president of PennWest. “We’re expanding experiential learning opportunities that equip our students with valuable, real-world skills.”

While total enrollment for spring 2025 reflects a 2.9% decline compared to spring 2024, this decrease is less than the projected figures, indicating a positive trend following last year’s 10.19% drop. Additionally, new transfer student enrollment rose 3.31%, further emphasizing PennWest’s growing appeal and value to prospective students.

Participation in PennWest’s Dual Enrollment program grew by 66% over last spring, with 68 additional high school students earning college credits at a reduced cost. Through this program, Pennsylvania high school students can take unlimited courses for just $75 per credit hour, while non-resident students pay only $87 per credit hour, making it one of the most cost-effective options available.

PennWest’s student body reflects a diverse community, representing 66 of Pennsylvania’s 67 counties, 48 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, and 57 countries around the globe.
