At PennWest, we understand your desire to effect change at all levels of society. This two-year program takes an interdisciplinary approach to help you expand your knowledge of psychology and sociology and prepares you to work as a human service practitioner in various human service agencies.

Our exceptional faculty will serve as your mentors and guides. Because they understand the needs that exist in today’s society, they can work with you to tailor a career that’s best suited to your interests and talents. Over the course of four semesters, you’ll learn problem-solving processes, advocacy skills and how to engage in human service work in a variety of ways.

The program offers both specialized and generalized competencies. It culminates with a supervised internship in a human services agency. Upon completion of this degree, you may continue your studies and earn a bachelor’s degree in Human Services and Rehabilitation, Sociology or another related discipline and receive credit for courses taken while earning your associate degree.
