High School Students, Get Ahead

The deadline to apply for courses in the Spring semester has been extended. The application to apply for Summer and Fall semesters is now open.

With the Pennsylvania Western University Dual Enrollment program, you have nearly 50 classes to choose from at the low cost of $75 per credit.

PennWest’s dual enrollment provides high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to take college classes while still in high school. (Note: Sophomore student eligibility is on a conditional basis determined by PennWest Admissions.) These college credits may also count towards your high school graduation requirements as well as be posted on your future university academic transcript.

Dual enrollment is available during the fall, spring, and summer sessions. There is no limit to the number of PennWest classes you can take per term. All courses are taught by qualified PennWest faculty. The cost is $75 per credit for Pennsylvania residents and $87 for non-Pennsylvania residents.

You can register for online asynchronous classes to take at your own pace, or on-campus classes at one of PennWest’s three campus locations: California, Clarion, or Edinboro. View our most current class availability list.

Students should have a cumulative 3.0 high school GPA to be eligible for dual enrollment. If your GPA is below this threshold you may still be eligible. Contact Ayla Stopko to learn more.
