California Distinguished Alumni Awards
The Annual Alumni Association Awards, established in 1967, celebrate the accomplishments of Alumni and friends of the California that have achieved exemplary distinction in their field, their careers, in athletic accomplishments, and in service. Starting with the inaugural awards ceremony in 1967, the Annual Alumni Association Awards have grown to nine distinct legacy awards, as well as special recognition for Alumni and friends of the University that have achieved distinction through their actions and accomplishments.
The Annual Alumni Association Awards are:
John R. Gregg Award for Loyalty and Service
This award is presented to an individual who has given dedicated and loyal service
to the Alumni Association and California University of Pennsylvania.
The CB Wilson Distinguished Faculty Award
This award is presented to a Cal U faculty member or administrator, regular or emeritus,
for distinguished activities to the university and its students.
The W.S. Jackman Award of Distinction
This award is presented to members of the university family who have gained regional,
state, national or international recognition in their professions.
The Michael Duda Award for Athletic Achievement
This award is presented to members of the university family for outstanding success
in the field of athletics.
The Pavlak/Shutsy Special Service Award
This award is presented to alumni and friends for years of dedication and service
to Cal U and its students and also recognizes dedication given to the Alumni Association.
The Professional Excellence Award
This award is given to those who have earned the highest standard of professional
accomplishments and achievements in their chosen profession.
The Young Alumni Award
This award is given to recent graduates who have reached exceptional achievements
in their professional and community life.
Meritorious Award
This award is given to those who have earned the highest standard and recognition
for their outstanding professional accomplishments and achievements in a specified
field of their chosen profession.
Rear Admiral William R. Furlong Award for Military Service
This award, named in honor of Cal U alum William R. Furlong, class of 1898, is given
to those who have served in the United States Armed Forces as active duty or veteran
service members, or in the ROTC program, that have established themselves through
military and civilian accomplishments.
Nominations for Alumni Awards must be submitted by May 1.
