Need a getaway? Mingo Creek, Seven Springs, Hidden Valley, Nemacolin Woodlands, and Cheat Lake are only a short drive away! Need to travel outside of the campus community? The Mid-Mon Valley Transit Authority (MMVTA) offers service in the area and to Pittsburgh. Vulcan Village provides an all-inclusive and comfortable environment where you will make lifelong friendships, grow as a student, and be part of the PennWest California community.

We want to you feel free to make your apartment your home! Additional furniture may be brought into the apartment; however, the original furniture must remain in place as there are no storage facilities for this. Any additional furniture that you bring must be removed at the end of your contract period.
Yes - you can apply your financial aid to use toward your housing costs for living at Vulcan Village.
You are not required to have a meal plan; however, should you choose this option, more information can be found here.
You can request a specific apartment and specific roommates, but there is no guarantee that we can honor your request due to previous requests and availability. We do our best to try to accommodate your requests.
Vulcan Village is conveniently located 1.5 miles from campus. Transportation to and from campus is provided by the Mid Mon Valley Transit Authority and the Vulcan Flyer. There is no fee to ride the shuttle buses.
Our complex accommodates 662 people in 199 apartments, this includes on-site management staff.
At this time, Vulcan Village does not offer discounts to rent paid in full although we encourage you to do so.
Absolutely! Parking at Vulcan Village is free to all residents. Information for on campus parking can be found on the PennWest California commuting and parking page.
All roommate issues are handled with the utmost seriousness and privacy by our management staff. Please see your Community Assistant for roommate issues as soon as they arise so they can help you alleviate the situation.
Basically we have adopted the plug and play philosophy. Once connected to the internet using an Ethernet cord (or by our wireless access), you will be prompted to an antivirus scanning website. Once your computer has passed university regulated anti-virus scans, you will have full connectivity.
You will need to contact the university housing office to cancel your contract at (724) 938-4444.
The beds furnished in your bedroom are full-size, extra long. Queen-sized sheets best accommodates these beds.
When you apply online through your university myPennWest account, a non-refundable application fee is due at that time. Please note that the application fee is NOT a security deposit that you receive when you leave your apartment. This fee helps to fund operational costs on the property such as snow removal, fitness center supplies, clubhouse amenities, and landscaping costs.
