You Have lots of Options

Clarion students are busy and enthusiastic, taking part and filling leadership roles in student organizations, Greek organizations, the University Activities Board, the Student Senate, and a variety of other initiatives.

The Student Senate consists of 22 elected PennWest Clarion Student Senators. Their responsibility is to represent the entire student body. The Student Senate is vested with all powers of the Clarion Students' Association (CSA), and they allocate the Student Activity Fee revenues with the approval of the President of PennWest Clarion.

Become a Senator

If you are interested in becoming a Senator, applications will be available on Engage at the beginning of the fall semester and during the end of the spring semester. Applications may be available throughout the academic year for special elections if a seat needs to be filled. The application consists of basic contact information, a picture of the applicant, and the applicant's platform. After the application deadline, elections occur by voting of the students of PennWest Clarion via Engage. Elected students will be contacted by the Student Senate at the conclusion of the elections.

The University Activities Board (UAB) is the programming organization for the student body. This group is responsible for bringing famous bands, acts, and speakers to campus. UAB has 10 separate committees that work together to build a successful programming schedule for students' enjoyment.

Join the UAB

If you are interested in leadership and service, then you may decide that joining Leadership Engagement and Development (LEAD) is best for you. LEAD is committed to creating programs that provide service and leadership opportunities to the student body and help address areas of need in our community.

Want to join a fraternity or sorority? There are four fraternities and five sororities on campus, and opportunities to join each semester.
