Pennsylvania Western University celebrated the formal installation of Dr. Jonathan R. Anderson as PennWest’s second president on Friday, Dec. 6, 2024. Faculty, staff, students, alumni and community members joined in the celebration in Steele Hall on the PennWest California campus, at watch parties on the Clarion and Edinboro campuses, and via livestream.

Dr. Anderson began his term as PennWest’s second president on July 1, 2024. As the second-largest public university in western Pennsylvania, with 10,834 students and 203,000 alumni, PennWest embodies its mission of serving students and communities. He has built a career as a growth-oriented and collaborative academic leader. His experience includes leading multi-campus institutions, prioritizing student success, streamlining budgets, optimizing enrollment, and building shared cultures.
